Only that disciple is dear to me who chants the mantra
- “Gurudev Ramlal Siyag”
Article: Boundless Love of Gurudev!
Sounds pretty harsh to the ears! Some disciples question- How can Gurudev be partial? How can he love some disciples more than others? They argue that they also love him as much as other disciples. The basis of their argument is that they worship him with all their heart, offer flowers, and incense sticks, then how come they’re not as dear to him as others who do nothing of the sort but chant all the time? Gurudev is like our mother. He loves his disciples equally, and like a loving mother, his heart bleeds more for the ones who go astray.
To understand his statement let us begin with simple logic. In our homes, to use a fan, fridge, electric heater, we require a constant supply of electricity. So, our house is connected to the electric powerhouse. If the house has a permanent connection to the powerhouse, we are ensured of a constant supply of electricity. Similarly, when we chant the mantra all the time, Gurudev’s protective energy stays active within us. It protects us, guides us, fights for us with the dark and evil forces, and saves us from trouble without our being aware of it. A sense of peace and calmness prevails within us due to its constant presence. But when we don’t chant the mantra regularly, our constant connection with Gurudev gets broken. As a result, the protective energy within us weakens. This allows the dark, evil forces to attack us with ease. The evil forces don’t want the seeker to forsake them for the highest form of spiritual energy.
Now Gurudev, being a protective, loving mother, knows this fact. He doesn’t want his disciples to fight helplessly with the evil forces so he says that only that disciple is dear to him who chants the mantra; because he knows that it is only by chanting that his disciples will be constantly connected with him and his protective energy. A Guru’s love for his disciples is boundless and his every action and word is meant for the welfare of his disciples.
